420마력 지프 그랜드체로키 SRT8

지프가 그랜드 체로키로 포르셰를 겨냥했다(?) 언뜻 와닿지 않는 이야기이지만 적어도 빠르기만 놓고 본다면 뒤질 것이 없는 놈이 태어났다. 주인공은 바로 내년 1월부터 시판할 그랜드 체로키 SRT8.

지프 브랜드의 첫번째 SRT(Street and Racing Technology)사양이자 4WD 첫 수혜자가 된 그랜드 체로키 SRT8의 심장은 420마력 6.1리터 헤미엔진이며 5.7리터 헤미엔진 보다 출력면에서 약 27%정도 향상되었다.

4WD시스템과 SRT 튜닝된 댐퍼, 스프링, 스테빌라이저 바, 부싱등을 적용해 단단한 드라이빙 능력을 자랑하며 ESP역시 약간의 개선이 더해졌다.

0-96km/h 가속시간은 5초 미만, 0-400m 도달시간 14초로 닷지 바이퍼를 제외하곤 크라이슬러 최강의 성능이다. 게다가 시판가격은 4만달러도 안되는 39,995 달러($675 데스터네이션 포함)부터 시작된다.
