캐딜락 풀사이즈 SUV, 2007 에스컬레이드

캐딜락이 자사의 풀사이즈 SUV, 에스컬레이드를 사우스플로리다인터내셔널오토쇼에 공개했다.

신차의 경우, 프레스데이에 공개하는 것이 관례이지만 퍼블릭데이에 공개하는 깜짝쇼를 노렸다.

GM의 차세대 대형 SUV 플랫폼으로 태어난 신형 에스컬레이드는 엔진을 비롯해 섀시, 안전시스템, 인테리어 감성 등을 한 단계 끌어올렸다는 주장이다.

컨셉카 식스틴(Sixteen)의 디자인 테마를 가져와 완성한 에스컬레이드는 첫눈에 보아도 캐딜락 차량임을 알 수 있을 정도이지만 프론트와 리어 이미지를 다듬어 세련되었고 그릴과 펜더에 크롬 포인트를 더했다.

HID헤드램프와 LED테일램프의 조합은 최근 유행을 따른 것이고 18인치 휠을 기본사양, 22인치 휠까지 선택할 수 있도록 했다.

403마력 신형 6.2리터 V8엔진은 커다란 차체를 움직이기에 부족함이 없어 보이며 6단 AT(Hydra-Matic 6L80)와 함께 한다. 구동 방식은 AWD가 기본사양.

시판은 올 연말부터 이뤄질 예정이며 판매가는 미정.
